As the majority of us behind ‘La Casa de las Lenguas’ have been or are currently students ourselves, we completely understand how difficult it is to get experience working with languages. We are very often limited to opportunities abroad or working with translation firms. Sometimes, neither of these options are accessible to us and, especially during these challenging times, the former may seem even less realistic.
That’s where we come in! ‘La Casa de las Lenguas’ is a perfect opportunity for students to gain some experience working with languages. You can work alongside people from all over the world without having to move an inch! It is also your little space to explore whatever topic you like - often things you may not have the opportunity to at school/college/university! It’s also a great opportunity to work alongside those already working in language-related careers. We have worked with translators, interpreters, teachers/tutors, and app developers to name a few!
The best part is that you do not need to a language student, we purposefully made the two sections of our magazine, 'Society & Culture' and 'Language & Linguistics', extremely broad to allow everyone the chance to gain experience in the journalism industry.
